hi, we’re annie & Sara

We’re twin sisters in our mid-30’s with full-time careers and a shared love for discovering beauty, meaning, and connection through travel. Annie works in PR navigating the fast-paced world of media; and Sara, an elementary school teacher with a passion for education and learning.

Our love for travel was born from loss. We lost our mom over 10 years ago, and what began as a way to honor her and bring her to places we knew she would have loved soon became something more. It opened our eyes to a world that was much bigger than the one we were living in. It gave us perspective and a deeper appreciation for our special bond as twin sisters.

Life is busy, but travel is how we slow down, connect, and rediscover what matters most

We tend to skip the crowded tourist checklists and lean into the art of slow travel, striking up convos with locals, going on the hunt for décor treasures we’ll proudly display in our own homes, or wandering the streets just because. We seek out more elevated experiences that are still grounded and real, and reflect the culture, creativity, and authenticity of a place.

We’ve heard it more times than we can count: “Your trips look amazing!” or “You plan the best trips!” followed by, “Can you send me your itinerary?” So, we decided to give the people what they want.

This blog is part inspiration, part travel diary, part unofficial concierge service for friends and family (and now, you). We’re sharing our favorite stays, eats, shops, and slow moments, not because we’re experts, but because we genuinely have fun curating meaningful trips. We hope you will enjoy them, too.

why twice removed?

“Twice” is a subtle nod to our twinhood. Two perspectives, two planners, two travelers. We travel in a way that’s elevated and introspective, a purposeful way to decompress that is “removed” from the ordinary.
